IT’S STARTED – Our girls are arriving! We are excited to actually start doing what we came over here to do – serve families around the world by loving and providing a home for their children. We’ve been learning about German driving laws, getting registered, checking through dorm inventories, learning how to negotiate grocery stores and shop for 24 plus guests, putting together Ikea furniture, painting walls, decorating lobbies, sitting in meetings, meetings, and more meetings, learning to drive 9 passenger (stick-shift) vans through tiny German villages and into heavy traffic cities…the list goes on. What we are wanting to do is meet these girls!
WHO ARE OUR GIRLS – Our girls come from all over the world. Their parents serve in nineteen different countries and it would be twenty except that two are sisters. About half come from countries we are not supposed to name online. When it comes to languages only two girls speak one language like us. Most of our girls speak two or three languages and there is a group of them that speak four. They think it’s very strange that we only speak one language. When it comes to travel they do not speak of what states they have been to but how many continents they have been to. They have multiple passports and dual citizenship’s.
WHO THEY REPRESENT – They represent the “church'”. I think it’s a better view of the “church” than what we normally think of as the “church” in America. Christ’s church in the world is like our girls. The languages are many. The nations and peoples are many. The “church” is in all the world and in fact growing and thriving in most of the world outside of North American and western Europe. They represent “the church” more so than what I use to normally think was “the church”.
Pray for us as we minister to these girls. For love to love them for grace to shower up them to say the hard things a parent must say.
Support. We are still short support by about 10%. If you are supporting us we are not asking for more, however, we sure could use the help of those who have not yet supported us. By supporting us you help us love these girls so their parents are allowed to stay on the field in those nineteen countries of the world where Christ is being proclaimed. Thank you.
